Angry travelers at Manchester Airport took to social media to express their frustration at airport waiting times. Many travelers posted pictures of the chaos on Twitter. A Twitter user named David Gardner warned others travelers to arrive “four hours before their flight”.

He said: “If you’re departing from Manchester Airport, I’d recommend arriving four hours before the flight (not three) so the carnage that is #manchesterairport doesn’t spoil your holiday.

“It took us over three hours to check in bags and get through security. It’s a terrible experience.”

Hayley Stokes had a similar experience, warning other travelers to “bring a jacket” because they will queue “outside”.

She said: “Manchester Airport T3 #manchesterairport was an absolute carnage this morning.

“They said, ‘I’ve been at @manairport since 4am. And I just got to my gate now.

“Thank god my flight was delayed. The airport is a bloodbath, there is no organization at all and the staff look lost, utter disgrace.”

A Manchester Airport spokesperson said: Manchester Evening News“Our apologies to all passengers whose experience at Manchester Airport this morning was not as they would have wished.

“As we continue to recover from the pandemic, we continue to advise customers that there are sometimes longer queues than usual, so we advise people to arrive three hours before their flight.

“This morning, while the vast majority of people passed through security in less than 30 minutes, waiting times peaked at more than 60 minutes in two of our terminals for a period of time, and we are sorry for the inconvenience caused.”

Manchester Airport has been struggling with delays, cancellations and baggage problems in recent months.

This has understandably led to thousands of angry customers and travelers.

The airport’s new director, Chris Woodroofe, has warned that this will remain the case for months to come.

However, he vowed to “help passengers on their way” as summer vacation approaches.
