NABU evaluated the implemented measures and targets of cruise operators and concluded that of the 19 companies surveyed, only one achieved half of the required points.

Sönke Diesener, NABU cruise expert, explains: “In the 10th year of the cruise ranking, the results show once again that environmental and climate protection is still not at the forefront for the cruise lines.
“Heavy fuel oil remains the fuel of choice for the majority of the existing fleet. Only a few truly future-proof projects are in the planning and implementation phase.
