The incident, involving Apple’s AirDrop file transfer service, involved a flight from Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
“So here’s the deal, if this goes through while we’re on the ground I have to retreat to the gate, everyone has to get out, we have to get security involved and…holiday is going to be ruined,” the pilot was told in a video that has been viewed some 2.7 million times on TikTok.
“So you guys, whatever that AirDrop thing is, stop sending nudes and let’s go to Cabo.”
Passenger Teiglor Marsalis captured the video and told CNN that she and her friends had just boarded the plane when she and those around her received a notification that files were being shared via AirDrop.
Marsalis said she rejected the file, but two women in front of her accepted and showed her the photo.
“It was a naked guy who dropped AirDrop on everyone,” she said.
Marsalis said she saw another woman upset by the photos and told what happened to a flight attendant.
A flight attendant went to tell the pilot what had happened, and Marsalis said she started recording video because she thought something was going to happen.
