Brits are allowed to fly to the U.S since November 2021, when the nation coronavirus trip ban for UK tourists, though strict testing and vaccine rules have remained. However, since Sunday, the requirement for proof of a negative Covid test or recovery confirmation has been deleted.
However, you still need to be vaccinated to enter the US.
According to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), “Only those with an exception or U.S. citizens, U.S. citizens, and U.S. lawful permanent residents can enter the U.S. unvaccinated.”
UK travelers can use their NHS Covid Pass to prove their vaccine status.
However, this rule does not apply to children aged 17 and under.
Unlike countries like Spain, the US does not yet require people to show proof that they have received a booster vaccine.
There is currently no set expiration date for the first course of vaccination.
But visitors must have received their first Covid vaccine 14 days or more before their arrival in America.
At the time of writing, according to the FCDO, all air passengers to the US are also required to provide contact information to their airline before boarding.
According to the FCDO, “Fully vaccinated travelers do not need to be quarantined on arrival and are advised to take a viral test within three to five days of arriving in the US.”
However, the viral test is not a legal requirement.
