Just a hop and a jump over the road from Gare du Nord in Paris lies a truly unique boutique space. Hidden behind the classic Haussmann facades of Paris is a cozy cacophony of color and style, 25hours Hotel Paris Terminus Nordthat immediately feels like a home from home in the bustling city.
25hours Hotel Paris Terminus Nord is one of the 25 hours offerings from the group, with others across Europe such as Berlin, Copenhagen, Florence and Dubai.
In fact, you are tipped off the Eurostar on the doorstep of the international brand’s Parisian offering, a hidden gem amid the City of Lights. Can you get more crafty than that? And who says comfort and style don’t go hand in hand?
This hotel pays tribute to the African community of Paris in the 10th arrondissement of Paris and was created in collaboration with the multi-award winning design agency Dreimeta. The interiors have the chic, expensive feel of one of the world’s most famous private members’ clubs for creatives (you know the one).
Bright pops of color and murals make for a visually stimulating hub, a place to energize you for your Parisian adventures.
Fuel up in the delicious Neni restaurant with its Israeli-Mediterranean cuisine served Balagan-style (meaning pleasant chaos). You must try the sweet noodle dessert and mango hummus.
Then head to the gentlemen’s club-inspired Sape Bar, which often has a DJ and always very strong cocktails!
If you’re so inclined, use the working typewriters in the hotel lobby to send a love note or letter home. After you’ve written your note, take it to the front desk and buy a stamp, and they’ll post the letter for you.
If you have work to do, the hotel has generous workspaces, which are very comfortable.
Proof that it’s not about size, but what you do with it, all of the hotel’s rooms are beautifully designed in rich, saturated colors.
The rooms range from a “small”, 12 to 16 sqm with a single bed to the “extra large plus”, with 30 to 33 sqm, a king size bed and bath in the room.
I was lucky enough to stay in the extra large room, with balconies overlooking the Gard du Nord. I could spend all day people watching with a glass of wine in hand.
Unfortunately there was a lot to do, as always in the city. Fortunately, 25hours offers bicycles from Schindelhauer.
Ask at reception to rent a bike and head out into town. Otherwise, hop into the metro station just meters from the hotel entrance.
