On an “Ask me Anything” forum, a passenger asked the airport employee, “What do people usually pack in bags that they shouldn’t?”
The baggage handler, posting under the name RoyalBlueEyes, said something as simple as food can cause chaos.
They explained, “Food! Omg food… Please don’t put any food or drink in your bag. They rot, break, leak, open.
These can be things like olives in brine, spreads like honey or jam, and even dips like hummus or guacamole.
You can pack any of these food items in your checked baggage.
However, depending on where you are traveling to, there may be restrictions on the types of food you can bring into your destination country.
Your Europe explained: “If you are traveling to the EU from a non-EU country, you are not allowed to bring any meat or dairy products with you.
“You are allowed to bring a limited amount of fruit and vegetables, as well as eggs, egg products and honey.
“Limited quantities of fish or fish products are also allowed.”
There are also restrictions on the amount of alcohol you can bring into certain countries, depending on where you are flying from.
You should check the specific requirements for your chosen destination before packing any food or drink.
