Sure, sometimes a check-in suitcase is necessary, especially if you’re going on a long trip, but sometimes the trick is to pack your carry-on like a pro. This Skyscanner tip should help passengers save money and space on their to travel.

Skyscanner stated: “Checking a bag in when you fly will save you extra time and money.

“You can also lose what you need. By only taking a hand luggage with you, you avoid these problems.

“These strategies teach you how to pack a carry-on size suitcase so you never have to check in larger bags.”

Skyscanner first recommended choosing the right bag, something that adheres to carry-on restrictions.

After narrowing down their search for size, passengers should opt for suitcases with outside pockets for items they need to be able to easily grab.

When it comes to actually packing this bag, the experts suggested that flyers put whatever they want to carry on a flat surface, such as a bed.

They advised, “Your goal is to make sure everything fits in your carry-on bag, so be prepared to limit yourself to the essentials.”

Sticking to items that match easily is a good way to go about this.

NOT MISSING

This may mean ditching the pretty dress that doesn’t really go with anything, for a few simple shorts that go with all your T-shirts.

For ease of travel, you also want clothes that don’t need ironing and dry quickly.

Many people make the mistake of packing too much for fear of forgetting something important or being abandoned on vacation.

This means that some not-so-smart packers take 15 pairs of underwear for a three-day trip, or four outfit changes a day.

However, it is important to remember when packing that most of the things you will need for your trip will also be available at your vacation destination.

Skyscanner recommended investing in some packing cubes to make organizing easier.

After you have explained exactly what you need, you can organize it into categories such as underwear, T-shirts and pants.

Then holidaymakers can start folding their clothes automatically, but this is not the most efficient practice.

Rolling up your clothes is a great way to fit more in, and by placing items side by side instead of on top of each other, you can see everything.

Rolling up clothing also means less chance of creasing if the clothing is taken with you on a trip.

Skaycanner gave two final tips: “If an organizer contains items that you only use at your destination, such as underwear or a swimsuit, store the organizer in the bag.

“If you have items that you often need to grab during your trip, such as medicines or earphones, store them in the external pockets or near the openings where they are easy to reach.”

If you can, it’s always best not to pack your bag so full that you struggle to open and close it – leave some extra for souvenirs.
