Unfortunately, plane sickness is a fact of life for British tourists. A travel expert has shared how passengers can avoid feeling sick by choosing the right seat.

A spokesperson for Travel Lens told Express.co.uk: “Air sickness is very common and with many holidays still to come this year, it is important that people can fully enjoy it without the added stress of feeling sick in the air. aeroplane.

“For some people, illness can be a persistent problem when traveling, but there are certain things that can be implemented to alleviate any symptoms.”

Choose a seat carefully

“Normally the center, wing and closer to the front of the plane are the best places to sit, as this is where the travel feels most stable.

“Avoid the back of the plane as seats here can be subject to more turbulence.”

Passengers may feel more air turbulence during a holiday flight if they are seated in the back of an airplane.

Securing a seat in the middle of the plane could be the best option for passengers who suffer from airplane sickness.

Put the book down

“Reading books can usually be relaxing. However, for people who suffer from motion sickness, it can be just the opposite.

“The best thing to do instead of reading is to try to relax and focus on the breath.”

NOT MISSING

Avoid alcohol

“Alcohol can quickly dehydrate the body and make symptoms worse, so it may be best to opt for a soft drink.

“Wait for symptoms to completely clear before considering drinking or landing.”

It can be tempting to have a drink at the airport, but passengers should avoid alcohol if they don’t want to feel sick.

Carbonated drinks such as Coke or Fanta can help calm the stomach and may be a better choice than alcohol.

Choose sensible food

“While it’s a good idea to eat a good meal before you fly, make sure you choose the food wisely.

“Stay away from greasy and spicy foods as these can upset an already nervous stomach.”

Greasy foods can make a passenger sicker, so it may be a good idea to avoid McDonald’s before a flight.

Airplane food can make some passengers unwell, so tourists can bring their own snacks if that is the case.
