For those on a strict spending budget, travelers are often overwhelmed by extra costs that they may have forgotten.
As many as nine in ten travelers who set a vacation budget are caught paying baggage fees, hotel excursions and room taxes.
In addition, one in four Britons say they went over between £100 and £300 during this year’s holiday.
These stats come as HSBC launches a free global cash account, a multi-currency debit card with no HSBC fees.
Tom Wolfenden, Head of Retail at HSBC UK, said: “This year many people will be traveling internationally again, but with the rising cost of living they will also be keeping a close eye on their finances.
