Carnival Cruise Line has said that guests are no longer allowed to buy bottles of spirits. Passengers used to be able to order a bottle before the cruise started.
Carnival Cruise Line Brand Ambassador John Heald said, “You will have noticed that we are no longer pre-ordering a full bottle of spirits.
“Spirits are no longer available for pre-order at our Fun Shops.”
At Carnival’s Fun Shop, guests can purchase extras and drink packages for their cruise, as well as excursions and spa packages.
Heald continued, “All existing sales will be honored and guests will still be able to pre-order up to two bottles of wine for onboard delivery and consumption.”

The brand ambassador was adamant that the change hadn’t been made to save money, saying: “This is not an austerity. Not if it affects our revenues it can be called austerity.
“The decision has been made so that we can monitor alcohol consumption more safely and for reasons you are sure you understand.”
Carnival Cruise Line customers can still purchase bottled spirits from the ship’s store.
Guests can purchase liquor ashore, but bottles will be confiscated until the end of their cruise vacation.
NOT MISSING
The popular cruise line is also tackling “seat hogs,” a pet peeve for many cruise vacationers.
‘Pigs’ are people who put a towel on a lounger by the pool at the beginning of the day and then leave it behind.
Carnival Cruise Line said passengers’ belongings would be removed from the lounge chairs after an appropriate period of time.
Guests can then collect their belongings from the cruise ship crew while another passenger enjoys the seat.
