Celina beddingwho has worked as a flight attendant for years, said passengers should avoid tap water and airplane food at all costs.
Celina explains, “For all the passengers out there, whether you are a frequent flyer, an occasional flyer, a seasonal flyer, or flying for the first time soon, I would like to say to you, NEVER drink tap water from the airplane bathroom.
“Many studies have shown that it is not hygienic to drink,” explains the flight attendant.
“You may have already seen the sign as most planes have it by the crane.
“You may have thought it was just a way to get you to buy a drink.
“But it’s actually for your own health,” she warned.
Celina said, “So definitely don’t drink tap water on an airplane.”
In terms of food, the crew member advised people to “avoid airplane food as much as possible.”
She explained that airplane foods, especially the most popular hot dishes like ham and cheese sandwiches and other ready-to-eat sandwiches, contain a huge amount of salt.
US flight attendant Amber added that “airline meals are extremely unhealthy” because “foods are usually prepared more than 12 hours in advance and can be filled with many preservatives”.
She revealed, “I bring my own food: light sandwiches or pasta salad.”
The crew member also advised passengers to avoid coffee on airplanes.
“Don’t drink, it’s the same drinking water that goes through the bathroom system,” she explained.
