Tommy Cimato, who has 16 years of experience in the business, has stressed that it is unsanitary for passengers to rest against windows as they may not be particularly clean. He said, “You’re not the only one who’s done that and you don’t know how many people or kids have wiped their hands or other things all over the window.”
Many airline passengers like to relax or take a nap during flights around the world.
But Tommy pointed out that germs can remain on airplane surfaces, just like in any room in your own home.
He also advised vacationers not to wear shorts on a flight, Mirror reports.
“Don’t wear or try to wear shorts when you’re on a plane. It’s the same as the window – you never know how clean it will be, so having pants on means less germs,” added the flight attendant .
However, jetsetters usually opt for shorts on an airplane because of the increased comfort.
The travel expert also gave hygiene advice regarding toilets in aircraft.
He said, “Never touch the flush button with your bare hands.
“It’s honestly just super unsanitary and pretty gross, so when you flush, use a napkin or tissue that’s in the toilet.”
Deanna Castro, who has also worked as a flight attendant for about 15 years, said tourists should always line up to let other passengers pass when they board.
She said InsideHook: “When boarding, it is polite to line up and let other passengers pass behind you.
“It’s okay to take a few extra minutes to get ready, but please go down the aisle and wait for a lull in traffic.”
