cruise holidays are becoming popular again since the end of Covid trip restrictions, and many people may be considering their first vacation at sea. If you’re planning your first time on a cruise ship, some seasoned travelers have shared some items you “must” bring with you.
While you may not think of packing them on a typical vacation, regular cruisers recommend always carrying plastic or wooden clothespins when traveling.
Some vacationers shared their “best tips” on a Reddit forum.
Under the username Missus_Aitch_99, one user said, “Be sure to bring some clips to attach your clothes to the chairs on the balcony. The plastic clothespins are good.”
A second sheds more light on the hack, revealing that it mostly has to do with rogue offshore winds.

A user named Kungpaonachos: “For drying swimsuits, take some plastic kitchen clips (like the ones they always have in the supermarket snack bar to keep bags of crisps closed) and fasten your swimsuit to the seat.
“If the clips on the back have magnets, you can also use them to stick stuff to your cabin walls.
“At least one of your booth walls will be metal and will hold a magnet really well.”
“They know all the usual hiding places and also know which containers are the most suspicious.”
A frequent cruiser posting on Reddit under the name HalfManHalfCyborg said attempts to smuggle booze on board are “very bad and foolish.”
They continued: “The cruise lines know all the tricks. They know what to look out for, will get you and confiscate it.
“If you’re lucky, they’ll let you back on the ship.
“If you try something like that on the day of boarding, they’ll just cancel your holiday with no refund.” [SIC]
