When the ship is quieter, passengers have more space and less need to interact with other guests.
The passenger added: “If you really hate people, upgrade to a room or suite with a balcony, pay for the priority upgrades, pay for the dinner upgrades, book the more expensive excursions and definitely book out of season.
“You can thin out the herd and upgrade the people you’re exposed to. Not all cruises are hell traps.”
