Alicante is one of the most popular holiday destinations among Brits and expats also love the city with over 100,000 Brits living there all year round.
The small town on the Valencian coast has a bustling city center, great beaches and some beautiful natural spots.
One of the most famous is the Gadalest Valley, just outside Alicante. A traveler who recently visited the area shared his opinion on Tripadvisor.
User @boronet said Alicante is a “beautiful village worth visiting” and explained that Gadalest Valley is a very “scenic” place.
“Along the beach you can walk the Paseo de Gomiz, characterized by many palm trees. You can have a drink with a sea view in the many cafes.”
The Mercat Central d’Alacant, the local market, is also one of Alicante’s most popular attractions.
Alastair, who recently visited, explains: “Alicante market is great to walk around and look at a real market with fish, fruit and vegetables and meat.
“There are other things for sale, but it is a food market. There are also some good cafes with snacks. Well worth a visit.”
